While you can't miss us (after all, we are the 200-year-old ship docked six miles inland) - here’s all the ways you can make your journey to Bristol Dockyards.

WAYS TO TRAVEL

We encourage sustainable travel where possible. It's easy to reach us by foot, cycle and via the Cross Harbour Ferry; perfect for those who want their maritime adventure to start before they even arrive. 

By foot

Fancy a pleasant walk along Bristol’s Floating Harbour? We are only 26 minutes from Bristol Temple Meads train station and the city centre, and 15 minutes from Broad Quay and Cascade Steps.

By cycle

We are located just two minutes from the Festival Way cycle path which runs from Bristol to Nailsea. We have a limited space for parking bicycles, Dott e-scoters and e-bikes in Brunel Square (just outside the main entrance to Bristol Dockyards). By boat

The Cross Harbour Ferry runs between Hanover Quay and Bristol Dockyards daily (Monday to Friday 8:30am to 6:15pm; weekends 10:30am to 5:30pm). Please visit numbersevenboattrips.com for current information.

By bus or train

The M2 metrobus service runs every day including public holidays. This bus links Bristol Temple Meads train station and the city centre to Long Ashton Park and Ride. Please alight at stop SS Great Britain on Cumberland Road which is a five-minute walk away. 

The nearest mainline railway station is Bristol Temple Meads. If you choose to travel by train, you can get 2-for-1 on adult day passes when you book online via National Rail Days Out Guide

By car

Spaces are available in the council-run Maritime Heritage Centre short stay car park adjacent to Bristol Dockyards. These are first-come, first-served and cannot be pre-booked. Please visit bristol.gov.uk for up-to-date information and prices. 

Please note that Bristol’s Clean Air Zone is in effect, and some cars will be subject to charges. An alternative option to consider is the Long Ashton Park & Ride service which operates Monday to Saturday.

By plane

The A1 Airport Flyer service from Bristol Airport stops a 19-minute walk from Bristol Dockyards. Alight at Redcliff Hill and walk down the harbour towards us (we suggest stopping at nearby M Shed before arriving at Bristol Dockyards).
